Dr. Fischbach, formerly director of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative, dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences at Columbia University in New York and director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health, is now the Chief Scientist and Fellow at the Simons Foundation. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Council for Foreign Relations and the Institute of Medicine, and his many awards include the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation Honor for Contributions and the Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service.
